2011 Accomplishments: 

  • Attended TRAV and Special Olympics shows
  • Held summer camp and included an all-day camp, versus the former half-day
  • Held Grand Opening of our classroom
  • Featured in multiple magazines and newspapers, including the Richmond Times Dispatch and Powhatan Today
  • Completed bathroom (with heat and lights!) and utility room
  • Added lights to our indoor ring
  • Began completing volunteer snack/break room
  • Recipient of many fundraisers from groups including the Powhatan Rotary Club and Willis Group

2010 Accomplishments:

  • Attended both TRAV and Special Olypmics shows
  • Hosted a show of our own
  • Held two week-long summer camps
  • Hosted our 2nd Mock Polo Match
  • Built and completed our classroom
  • Installed appliances in order to finish our bathroom, utility room, and lounge
  • Finished both lofts, one above classroom/office areas and other above apartment
  • Welcomed Children's Hospital and group homes
  • Started building apartment

2009 Accomplishments:

  • We became a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified center
  • Student athletes participated in 3 TRAV (Therapeutic Riding Association of Virginia) shows along with the Special Olympics
  • Held 2 week-long, all-inclusive riding camps during the summer
  • Hosted 2 on-site horse shows
  • Welcomed several adult group homes and a Children's Hospital for therapy rides
  • One of 10 barns to participate in a Barn Tour to raise money for the Thoroughbred Rescue Foundation
  • Involve our community by inviting James River High School students and Tech Center students to join us for volunteer work and / or rides
